YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!! I FEEL SO DISGUSTED!!!!!

*shivers*

I was waiting for my hair to dry... then I went to the bathroom and when i came out, i caught sight of a COCKROACH crawling its way to my living room!!!

So made a long cloth damp and followed behind it but of course, at least like 8 feet away... I just couldnt bring myself to smack it coz i was afraid it'll run towards me! Tsk. cockroaches are disgusting la! and their sense of direction is damn annoying. They always like to run towards me! ARGH!

If it stayed in the kitchen, I'd have just ran back into my room. But it went into the living room and hid under the massage chair!!!!!! :S

I tried to jerk the massage chair bt didnt work. After like 5 minutes i tried again. Nothing.

Exasperated, I went bk into the kitchen and sat on a high chair and watched intently.

Another 5 min went by. I was still clutching on to the damp cloth.

Just when I was about to give up waiting, I spied some movement from under the massage chair. It's antenna and head was peeking out!

It crawled out and did like 2 rounds in front of the area and went under my mom's black sweater which was sprawled beside the massage chair, on the floor. (ignore the fact that my mom's clothes was on the floor in the hallway.

I thought I should just wait for it to crawl into an open area so that there was nothing to obstruct me and when i smack it, it has no where to hide.

But no. It stayed hidden in my mom's sweater!!!
TSK.

I waited for like ten minutes. Nothing. I thought it might have crawled under the chair again. So i tried jerking it agn.

Nothing.

This time, I reckoned it might be hiding under my mom's sweater. But it was just a lump of black. And I didnt wanna risk lifting the sweater only to find the cockroach crawling up my hand!!! That wud definitely cause a ruckus...

so anyway.... I went to the kitchen and took a long pole. The one used to hang our laundry. Heh.

Back in the living room, i used the pole and poked the sweater.

Nothing. Decided to lift it with the pole. and THERE! I saw some movement. It was the cockroach! Nesting on it! YUCK!

Am having goosebumps now.

I continued to poke at it and it came running out the sweater and scattered into the open space. i seized the chance and tried to whack it with the damp cloth but missed.

Swiftly, it darted and made a run into the kitchen!

So i caught up with it and sensing it was about to hide under the cupboards, in a desperate attempt, I threw the cloth at it!

Nothing.

Quite uncertain if I hit the target...

Apprehensively, I lifted the cloth (the pole aside this time).

BY GOLLY! It was there! and it started to escape!

And there was a small black thingy that dropped on the floor as well. More abt that later...

The cockroach was obviously hurt, it didnt managed to move more than 2 inches. So this time, I seized the chance and used the cloth on it. Hard. And the pole to "minced" the cloth for good measure.

Think I've killed it! I killed my first cockroach! :D

Back to that black thingy. It's just a black little knob. No more than 6 mm in diameter.

I didnt pick it up of course. dubious.

Then it struck me. IT MUST BE THE COCKROACH's EGG SAC!

YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THe cockroach is a female!!!!

AND IT WAS PREGNANT!!!

YUCK! IM having goosepimples again. EEeewch.

(At this point, if u're rollin ur eyes thinkin why I'm still going at it, it's because I'm EXTREMELY grossed out by cockroaches.)

The Egg sac... Eew. I cant have it lying around! There must at least 14 nymphs in it waiting to hatch!

Eewch

*goosepimples*

Soooo.... I thougt I shud use tissue and pick it up. And like burn it.

WAIT! I'm not done yet.

THis time, Out of the corner of my eye. I spied some movement!!

Nah.. I know what u're thinkin. It's not the cockroach. I think it's dead.

IT IS ANOTHER COCKROACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but thank God it's only a nymph. There's only this much "excitement" my heart can take.

Btw. I hate that my kitchen floor tiles are black. No wonder I didnt see the cockroach when I entered the kitchen!

So this nymph. It's small. No more than 8cm.

I rolled up some toilet roll. And squashed it. I did the same with the egg sac with a tissue. The tissue wasnt very thick so I can feel the sac. It was hard. YUCK.

I couldnt burn them so I tossed them in the toilet bowl and flushed.

Hmm... I couldnt bare to clear the body of the dead one I just killed. So I left the crime scene and went into my room. WRote a note "COCKROACH! Killed it. I think."

I returned to the kitchen, and set the note on top of the cloth. Heh. Hopefully canida sees it and doesnt touch it or I'm sure as hell she's gonna freak.

I still cant help thinkin there might be other nymphs around?!
YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alrite. That concludes my cockroach episode.

I feel grossed out.

still having the goosepimples. :S

YUCK.

the other day, Robs and I googled cockroaches to check if cockroaches fly.

Apparently, the cockroaches that we normally see here are either American cockroaches (which seldom fly, thank God!) or German cockroaches (doesnt fly). Btw, the German cockroaches look weird. They have a weird butt. Lol. As told by Robs.

Aptly, a tribute to George Yeo, Chiam See Tong, Nicole Seah, Vincent Wijeysingha, Low Thia Khiang and team and all the others for their political strifes towards a better Singapore!

I finds the lyrics inspiring! :D

Still surveying the aftermath of GE 2011.
Robin was extremely disturbed and upset last night. I believe he has every reason to.

Though I love my country... I still think many are blind.
Lky was right. We will live to repent. Not those who bravely dismissed his arrogant threat (In Aljunied GRC), but those others who voted out of fear, ignorance and lack of social responsibility because they don't have the cognitive ability to decipher what's good for the country, seeking only self-interest.

Giving a pass for the bimbo riding on the coat tail of the nonsensical pompous one?!

Letting the one who caused HDB and COE to rise like mad through?!?

Hello???!!!!

Yes. We will live to repent. Some like me, are dragged into this not by choice. But because there's lack of righteousness in some others.

I just hope the paps will hold true to their word of humbling themselves and putting Singaporeans first. But we already know how that panned out the last time.

I believe a true leader is one who is able to inspire and influence his followers who hold great respect for him. He is capable because he serves to his best as he leads. Much like Jesus who stooped to wash the feet of his disciples. Who sacrificed Himself and loved even His enemies; who didn't care if no one thanked Him...
Only He is worthy and fit to be King. And from the way I see it... Paps is lightyears away from that. Waaaaaay distant.

P.s. I'm not anti Pap. I'm just sick of their arrogance and unrighteous strife for economic gains-individual and national level, without a care for majority. This post is not directed at pap supporters who whole heartedly support them or those who voted for them having thinking it through rationally. This is for the kiasu, the kiasi, the dumbass-ignorant ones like those ah lians who think it cool to agree with what xiaxue says (as explained to me by Robin. LOL).

I just need to say...

General Elections looms. Closer now, only hours away…

I see appalling tactics of how PAP makes full use of the cooling day to gain unfair advantage. Seriously, admit it. Do we even need a cooling day? The mainstream media is evidently pro-PAP, all eyes would be on the news today. Easy as pie to propagate to the likes of PAP. Just waiting to see the new low that they’ll be exercising.

My vote would be based on whoever has the heart to serve the people. No, PAP would NOT be voted out this election. They’d still form most of the government. I don’t see what’s the big hoo-ha about ‘opposition’ supporters not making ‘rational’ decisions, simply going with their heart and not the mind.

Hello? That’s coz we LOVE our country! Our votes are directly linked to where our heart lies! If u want economic growth, I’ll tell u point blank— VOTE FOR THE PAP!
For me, I’m not so big on economic growth. While it’s true that it generally raises the standard of living, but it also leads to a decrease in quality of life. People working longer hours to make more money, health deteriorates coz no time to look after themselves and relax, don’t even have time to spend their money they’ve slogged so hard for! Etc. Besides, that’s only an ostensible measure of the govt’s performance so they could boast about GDP and then use it as a way to justify their salaries.

On a micro level, I don’t see ME benefiting from our boasted economic growth. I’m still in debt coz I haven’t even started to pay off my tuition! Spare me the talk of reducing corruption (I’m not against paying them high salary but this is way too much) because the only way I’d see eye to eye on this issue is when these people live up to what they’re worth. NO, arrogance and ignorance to citizens’ sentiments (whom they are serving) do not cut it.
Robin raised a good point. Why’s the govt offering scholarships(plus allowance) using our tax payers’ money to foreign students when our local students have to fight for placements and pay off their tuition fees after graduation, and the guys lagging 2 yrs no thanks to NS. And these scholars would stay like what? 3 yrs to fulfill their bond and then leave!!! >:(

The ‘stop at two’ policy was a big mistake man! To advance quickly, LKY made a fatal mistake.
Granted, we’ve come thus far in such a short period of time but we’re suffering the consequences now. Low birth rate-> ageing population-> influx of foreigners-> increased HDB prices, crowded public transport and stressful students-> couples too drawn into work to earn a living therefore unable to cope with having children... which brings me back to the low birth rate.

Too bad. I’d really like to ramble on but I’m giving tuition soon. Heh. Anyways…

I find it extremely funny that ministers are starting to apologise, shed tears and post videos fof themselves appearing all genuine and for the interest of Singaporeans.
It’s funny. Then insulting. Are we stupid?! I won’t fall for that. If they are truly sorry, the apologies would not come just days before the election. It’s just too late to apologise I guess. If it were earlier, I’d still be supporting PAP. Now, not so sure…
