CNY 2014

I don't suppose I know how the Chinese New Year used to hold such allure for me.

Now it's just a holiday that I need- to rest at home. But unfortunately, I can't hide from people, albeit my extended family, some of whom I'm none too interested to see. >.<

BTW, do you know that it's very #trendy and #hip  to post CNY happenings on various social media- instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc.

1. #ootd

 2. #selfie

 3. #groupshot, #familyportrait

4. #reuniondinner
I was too caught up with eating the food

5. #randomsnacks #cnygoodies
as much as they're yummy, I didn't think they were instagram worthy
Seriously now, they don't look very nice. I mean, how pretty do you think the bakwa look like?!

6. #selfie with a nephew/niece or any kiddo (always claimed to be cute) of a friend's.
I'm not too good with kids. They just stare at me like I'm alien. I don't like holding kids of people I'm not too close with. Like what if I drop it and it starts crying?!
And I'm not gonna pretend to like your kid if they're gonna be some snobby spoilt child who are so difficult to please and only the iPad interests them.

7. #selfie with the person you are dating at that point in time

8. anything goes if you tag #cny to it. Or you could come up with a random story to 'justify' the post.
Like if you wanted to post a selfie just coz you thought you looked good in it, but you didn't want to appear pompous or risk other people feeling like you're posting it up to make them jealous of your good looks,
You could make a comment like,
'Happy CNY everyone, here's wishing you a (inserts a string of CNY greetings, or anything that resembles it coz that is NOT the main focus)'

Or things like,
'Feeling so blessed to be surrounded by family and friends. Some I've not seen for so bloody long coz we are so close, what matters is our hearts are one. We don't need to see each other on other days of the year.'

Heh.
