Lately

David Hummingbird, boyfriend to Cans/ possible bro-in-law/ Monkey King (coz Cans is Monkey Queen), has requested for a new blog entry.

Funny how one can be so free, yet, no recent entries.

But considering how I've been busy preparing for Ping's wedding and the ever insatiable need to watch Dramas... not quite.

*scratches neck*

Hate the neck rash. WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE IT?!

Imma just gonna put together blurry images taken from my HTC and make obvious comments :p

Let's start with...

The longest manicure I've ever had in my life.

Angeling's mom's ex colleague, Shulan, is a manicurist in training. Upon receipt of Angeling's email calling for "lab rats" or in this case, manicurist-in-training-rat, I've asked the girls if they'd like a free gelish manicure for the wedding.

I'm not one for elaborate nails, so I didn't think to book for it. Who wants to spend like 5 hours there doing nails that's too fancy it looks scary?!

Let's see the results of their commitment to free-5hours-manicure-sit-until-sore-butt:

Ping:
Kinda like a mini tuxedo. We were thinking that it suits the wedding gown just fine. Note that the dark base is actually dark purple. :)

Pork:

Having seen this, I'd decided I should give it a try coz it's actually not as bad as I've imagined. It's actually pretty! 'xept I'd still like it to be less fancy.

Fine, I'm fickle-minded. CANNOT AH?

Even Ping's Mom went!:

Ok, this one is not entirely pretty...

So by the time I booked an appointment with Shulan, she was only free this week. So I had to do my own manicure for the wedding:
Was grabbing onto the laptop when I took the shot and whatsapped the girls :)

Here's my nails now, having sat through 4 hours of manicure...
Ok, apparently my nails can't pose for the cameras. It's like I'm grabbing an invisible microphone or sumtin.
I'm still not thrilled about that flower thing, looks like white fungal growth to me. Shulan initially wanted a dark purple glitter base and plant three fungal growth on each hand. But I told her I'd prefer a lighter shade of purple and just one flower each. The nail extensions are a tad too long and too glittery for me though.
Can't text or type as well as I want to. =.= How do some people live with such long nails?! I can't even grab a bobby pin from the table!!!

Meda went too:
Why does it look better on other people's nails and not mine?! WHY?!?!?!

Anyway, here are some photos of Wedding Superheroes:

Pork-me-silly-Cyclops

Ping-a-ling-Martian

LOL. The things women do to look pretty.

Guess I also left out the fact that we had a whatsapp group chat where all of us women spammed each other with photos of what we're gonna wear, how we're gonna beautifully adorn ourselves as the wedding day slowly creep up on us. And my incessant counting down of days and we'll all hyperventilate every now and then. :D

Not sure if the rest would detest me posing weird photos of them here but guess I'll pose mine :)

What I thought to wear:
and I did.
with these killer heels...

Pork and I thought it better to seek hairstylists for our evening hair updo. Which we did, at Two Way Holistic. $28 for tonnes of bobby pins and hairspray.

Can I just say that this was not comfortable at all...
These are unfortunately the only pictures I have of our updo. Pork's was kinda just... messy. But nice nonetheless. How odd. Of course, can't forget her epic reply to that, “人美就是美,怎样都美”。

The wedding day was spectacular! And an arduous one at that.
Shan't bore you with details but here's a summary:

Reach Ping's parents' before 630am.

Managed to snap a pic with the pretty bride before she donned on the wedding gown

Prepare for 'gatecrash' games.
Groom and men arrived at 730am, games and such.
David's parents' (by golly, from Jurong to Sengkang), tea ceremony.
Punggol Waterway Park for outdoor photoshoot. (Melting in the sweltering sun...)
Ping's and Dave's new loving nest.
Back to Ping's parents' for tea ceremony (journey to the west).
Lunch.

By the time we reached her parents' I was like dead tired!
I'd been so excited/nervous the previous night I didnt sleep much. Less than an hour to be exact.
Oh, and I didnt have dinner the previous night either coz I didnt want my tummy to be prominent >.<
So even after 2 servings of lunch, I felt like I'd eaten nothing!!!

Anyways, fast forward to wedding dinner.
Delivered an 8 min long wedding toast and the rest were a blur to me coz I was ruddy running on adrenaline  and couldnt wait to crash in bed.

BTW, did I mention that the wedding toast speech was in English AND Mandarin? Coz I'm effectively bilingual, 有沒有?
I was practically representative of Singaporean Mandarin coz David's Dad invited a friend from Taiwan. Who happens to be a Taiwanese MP. =.=

No worries, I've been told my Mandarin was impeccable :D

Initially I was so nervous (how can I not be when there were 400+ pairs of eyes staring back at me, egging me on to hurry up and finish my grandmother story), the glass of filled-to-the-very-brim water I held in my left hand was on the verge of spilling over my dress. All I know was I rambled on for what I was worth, alternating between Eng and Mandarin (thank God I remembered everything I'd wanted to say) whilst clutching the glass against my chest, only like a minute or two later, felt like my left nipple was too cold coz of the frigging cold water!

After having trudged down the stage in my killer heels, I felt the flow of crimson river.

=.=

Wait! Lemme tell you how grand the couple march in was.

Ping and David waltz in to Ping's beautful voice singing a song I've never heard before "做你的公主"

What a perfect way to serenade your husband. On the wedding day.
Of course, I was like experiencing goosebumps and tears in my eyes *sobs*

Ping sang it better than Sun Ho. Cross my heart and hope to die. And she's prettier than her too :p

*sigh*

As of now, I only have but one picture with the bride that night.

“为什么你选的好朋友都比你彯亮?”
Thanks Mom! I will never forget that! =.=

Best friend no.1 wedding accomplished.

Two more years to Gdine's! Can't wait.

Oh, did I mention what Sugi got me for my birthday?

Better yet, lemme show you.

When I saw "Magnetic Poetry Kit" I was all, "Wow! This is awesome!" until I set eyes on "Erotic Edition".

*stunned*

"Hello?! What possessed you to get something like this for me?!"
Sugi's cheeky reply which made no sense at all, "Your recent tweets have inspired me"

You mad bro?!

So we thought to make the best of it, Kelv, Sugi, Isa and I (Jeecheng was spose to be there!) grabbed a handful of magnets each and formed a non-dirty and a loaded sentence each.

LOL. Isa's was a winner really.

It then occurred to me later in the evening that Isa's the funniest friend I have. His jokes are seriously funny. I mean, I get it, and it's so my type of humour. Lol.

Oh, before I forget, lemme flaunt my handiwork.

Ping's Hen's night present:

Funny how everyone says I'm not Snow White when it clearly states so! Living in denial much?!

So there it is!
Oh and I lost some weight. 2 Kgs. hehe!

No, actually 1kg and slightly more..

Ok, back to my midnight tryst with "Revenge" and nutella.
