I just need to say...

General Elections looms. Closer now, only hours away…

I see appalling tactics of how PAP makes full use of the cooling day to gain unfair advantage. Seriously, admit it. Do we even need a cooling day? The mainstream media is evidently pro-PAP, all eyes would be on the news today. Easy as pie to propagate to the likes of PAP. Just waiting to see the new low that they’ll be exercising.

My vote would be based on whoever has the heart to serve the people. No, PAP would NOT be voted out this election. They’d still form most of the government. I don’t see what’s the big hoo-ha about ‘opposition’ supporters not making ‘rational’ decisions, simply going with their heart and not the mind.

Hello? That’s coz we LOVE our country! Our votes are directly linked to where our heart lies! If u want economic growth, I’ll tell u point blank— VOTE FOR THE PAP!
For me, I’m not so big on economic growth. While it’s true that it generally raises the standard of living, but it also leads to a decrease in quality of life. People working longer hours to make more money, health deteriorates coz no time to look after themselves and relax, don’t even have time to spend their money they’ve slogged so hard for! Etc. Besides, that’s only an ostensible measure of the govt’s performance so they could boast about GDP and then use it as a way to justify their salaries.

On a micro level, I don’t see ME benefiting from our boasted economic growth. I’m still in debt coz I haven’t even started to pay off my tuition! Spare me the talk of reducing corruption (I’m not against paying them high salary but this is way too much) because the only way I’d see eye to eye on this issue is when these people live up to what they’re worth. NO, arrogance and ignorance to citizens’ sentiments (whom they are serving) do not cut it.
Robin raised a good point. Why’s the govt offering scholarships(plus allowance) using our tax payers’ money to foreign students when our local students have to fight for placements and pay off their tuition fees after graduation, and the guys lagging 2 yrs no thanks to NS. And these scholars would stay like what? 3 yrs to fulfill their bond and then leave!!! >:(

The ‘stop at two’ policy was a big mistake man! To advance quickly, LKY made a fatal mistake.
Granted, we’ve come thus far in such a short period of time but we’re suffering the consequences now. Low birth rate-> ageing population-> influx of foreigners-> increased HDB prices, crowded public transport and stressful students-> couples too drawn into work to earn a living therefore unable to cope with having children... which brings me back to the low birth rate.

Too bad. I’d really like to ramble on but I’m giving tuition soon. Heh. Anyways…

I find it extremely funny that ministers are starting to apologise, shed tears and post videos fof themselves appearing all genuine and for the interest of Singaporeans.
It’s funny. Then insulting. Are we stupid?! I won’t fall for that. If they are truly sorry, the apologies would not come just days before the election. It’s just too late to apologise I guess. If it were earlier, I’d still be supporting PAP. Now, not so sure…
