Also a time to...
Stare at pretty bouquets of flowers other women are holding. Stare at pretty bouquets of flowers other men are holding. Think how cliche it is. Think how the flowers will wilt and wither in a couple of days. Think how over-priced the flowers are. Think how the money spent on such can be put to better use.

And to...
Marvel at the number of people flooding the restaurants. Applaud the retailers and restaurants for marking up the prices of the gifts and food. Go wide-eyed at the Valentine's Day set Menus (some made 'mandatory' in some restaurants). Look at the smiling faces of merchants, especially the jewelers. Snigger upon the slightly grudging boyfriends handing out their cards at the cashiers.

Over-commericialised. Simply consumerism. Over-rated. Reiterates the notion of how money makes the world go round.

Lastly, LOVE IS DEFINITELY IN THE AIR. Especially so, the merchants would think :)

Here's how women think of flowers on Vday. Say, if Robin were to hand me a bouquet of flowers on Vday, I'd have been happy to receive it for like the first few seconds, then take it for granted coz he OUGHT to have done so anyway.

In other words... receiving flowers on Vday is cliche and guys, being ripped off, are conditioned to think that it's all worth it when they see the smile on the recipient's face. When in fact, most girls would have the underlying sentiment that "He ought to have done so"

That's just me anyway.
Robin thinks it's Gimmicky. Heh. He's prolly saying that coz he didnt want to buy me pretty flowers and gifts :p (Kidding)
I'd rather he'd have used the money for my supposed bouquet and gifts and donate it to a charity of my choice :D

That being said, I still 'celebrate' Vday. :D
